Finance Manager, Amazon Flex

Amazon Flex is at the forefront of delivery operations owning a significant piece of Amazons Last Mile delivery strategy both currently and into the future. The Flex model utilizes independent contractors to help fulfill Ultrafast customer deliveries including Amazon Grocery Whole Foods same day orders and beyond. Our Finance team works closely with Technology Product and Program Managers to track performance reporting and support analysis for optimization of labor planning pricing routing and expansion opportunities which help improve safety customer quality and reduce costs.

With a rapidly expanding team and scope we are looking for a Finance Manager who is a creative problem solver to support our growth while gaining excellent Operations Finance experience. This role will take end to end responsibility of Flex Finance in Japan working closely with the Japan Flex business team and cross-functional business leaders across the Last Mile organization. This role partners closely with a broad range of global finance and business leaders in Flex Operations Flex Tech Amazon Logistics (AMZL) and Grocery teams. This role works with business operators technical product managers legal teams and software developers. This role designs and develops performance measurements and quantifies impact to the business based on strategic input drivers to grow and continuously improve the economics of the business.

The successful candidate has demonstrated the following abilities: they influence business owners support thoughtful decision-making deal with ambiguity and adapt to a rapidly-evolving environment. They collaborate with executives and various business units across Amazon. You bring excellent verbal and written communication skills. - 5 years of tax finance or a related analytical field experience
- 5 years of multiple finance and accounting roles experience
- 5 years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
- 5 years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
- 5 years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
- 5 years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
- Bachelors degree in engineering statistics or business or Bachelors degree and 4 years of quantitative role (engineering process re-engineering quality assurance) experience

- 6 years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models analysis and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g. financial savings operational improvements or customer benefits) experience
- MBA or CPA
- Knowledge of SQL/ETL
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL MS Access Essbase Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle SAP Lawson JD Edwards)
