-Draft review negotiate and advise on the preparation of all contracts agreements and other legal documents.
-Offer counsel on legal and compliance issues.
-Work cross-functionally and provide guidance on and ensure
compliance with relevant laws and regulations applicable to the
businesses including any relevant industry codes and
Foreign Corrupt Practices Act; Execute on the compliance strategy
in order to drive adherence to Japans compliance requirements
and to minimize Company compliance risk in its Japan operations.
-Develop training plan materials and deliver training to employees on legal compliance privacy and other relevant topics.
-Manage staff.
-Manage the legal budget approving expenditure and highlighting where theres a risk of exceeding budget
Minimum Education or Equivalent Experience Required/Preferred
-Excellent legal academic credentials with law firm orin-house legal experience/training are required.
-Legal education from a Commonwealth jurisdiction would be an advantage.
-Fluent in written and spoken Japanese and fluent in written and spoken English at business level.
-License to practice law either in Japan or another jurisdiction is a plus.(Not must)
Minimum Years of Related Knowledge Skills and Abilities Required/Preferred
-At least 8-10 years of relevant legal experience sincequalification - including a mix of law firm and in-houseexperience.
-Experience in healthcare related industry is desirable
-Experience in compliance related work will be a plus;
-Experience working in multinational corporations outsideJapan ideally in a Western country for a multi-year period
-Broad-based commercial and corporate experience ideally advising leaders of business units or functions.
