Bakery Technologist (Asia Pacific)

Roles and Responsibilities

Technical support:

• Demonstration (individual or group) on yeast and baking Ingredients from Lesaffre range (dry fresh and frozen yeast bread improvers sourdough etc.) in Baking Center (internal or at our partners premises) as well as at our clients facilities (craft instore bakeries and industrial bakeries).
• Technical Assistance to industrial and craft bakeries (process and recipe improvements trouble shooting on a diversity of bakery applications assistance for claims processing in collaboration with our clients and our quality department).
• Conduct training and workshop (bakers distributors and Lesaffre employees).
• Collection and reporting of technical information from markets (products positioning competitors trends and changing customer needs).

Product development:

• Identifying customer needs and competitors positioning.
• Provide technical data and info from market to run analyses and development in Lesaffre (new products testing atypical products).
• Collaboration with Laboratory & formulators to support development of new yeasts and ingredients solutions (for the market or tailor-made solutions). Involvement on the optimization of their implementation (usage presentation).
• Product validation (evaluation of performance and perception users) prior to market launch.
• Contribute to marketing documentation support to marketing department to build argumentation of products range.

Qualifications :

• Possess strong knowledge of bread-baking process (raw materials - manufacturing processes - applications) with successful operational experience in technical support for craft and Industrial bakeries.
• Good communication skills (listening skills good oral expression ability to convince / train).
• Customer oriented ability to identify and understand the clients needs and constraints.
• Ability to transform client needs into an action plan and a product offering.
• Team spirit but ability to work independently on daily operations.
• Summarizing and reporting skills.
• Availability to work flexible schedule and travel (within Japan/South Korea and regionally within APA).
• Fluent in English communication and local language will be an advantage.

• Comply with local governmental HSE regulations with Lesaffre fundamental principles and apply the safety Policy
• Participate in entity safety activities and always show best examples (Rules application PPE wearing perform safety visits accident analysis safety committees)
• Participate actively in the risk assessment of owns job area
• Follow the safety action plan of own perimeter
• Make safety rules in your perimeter communicate it make sure your team understands and applied them
• Start all meetings (from 8 persons minimum) by a safety contact
• Encourage safe acts and discourage each time you see unsafe acts
• Report unsafe conditions / acts and near misses to the managers
• Report within 12 hours all recordable accidents to the next level of management
• Report each month all recordable accidents and first aids happened in your perimeter
• Participate in the target-setting process for the safety KPIs
• Be a part of recognition & sanction program.

Safety & Health Responsibilities within Sales Force & Marketing:

• Respect company rule regarding travel safety
• Apply our safety rules over and above those of our customers if there are no similar rules (safety shoes goggles etc.)
• Apply and respect safe driving rules
• Make sure all gift or external communication supports are online with safety spirit (good for health safe environmentally friendly).
