About the Opportunity
We are seeking a forward-thinking Manager of Underwriting Operations & International Programs to join a major European insurance company. This is a unique opportunity to lead operational strategy for our Japan division while spearheading our digital transformation journey.
In this role, you will lead a dedicated team to deliver excellence in policy administration, premium processing, and International Program services. You will be a 'playing manager'—blending people leadership with hands-on involvement in driving efficiency, process standardization, and the integration of cutting-edge automation and AI technologies.
What You Will Do
- Lead & Develop: Inspire and coach a team of eight, fostering a high-performance culture focused on talent development and operational success.
- Operational Excellence: Oversee end-to-end insurance operations, including policy issuance, premium booking, and reinsurance settlements, ensuring robust controls and high-quality data management.
- International Program Leadership: Serve as the primary driver for our Incoming and Outgoing International Program activities, collaborating with global offices to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Digital Transformation: Lead our evolution into a future-ready operating model. You will identify and implement initiatives using Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and AI to boost productivity and simplify complex workflows.
- Stakeholder Strategy: Build strong bridges across Underwriting, Claims, Finance, and our global network, representing Japanese operations in regional and global strategic forums.
