Analysis Engineer

Department: Engineering service group, Engineering Dept.

• The person will be responsible for evaluating using CAE Chain, Timing system and VCT based on the BorgWarner Design Procedure. In this position, the person will be responsible for performing Structural Analysis, Multi-body Dynamics Analysis, CFD Analysis, and 3D modelling for CAE by yourself.

• Select and propose the optimal analysis method to meet the analysis request.
• Evaluate stress, strain, deformation, natural frequency, frequency response, etc. for Timing system and VCT performing structural analysis. And check whether each value meets a criteria. In addition, propose weight reduction based on the results.
• Evaluate fluid pressure, flow velocity, flow rate, friction, splashing, etc. for Timing System, VCT and Drivetrain System performing CFD analysis. At times, an evaluation coupled with MBD is required.
• Evaluate chain tension, vibration, tensioner load, tensioner motion, contact force, friction, etc. for Timing System and Drivetrain System using internal developed software.
• Propose and establish new analysis methods based on internal needs.
• Creating and modifying simplified 3D models required for CAE.
• Provide a smooth interchange of ideas and information between product engineers and co-workers. This requires maintaining daily personal contact with all facets of the function’s operations and remaining aware of current progress.
• Develop and maintain internal design procedures, work instructions, and other tools intended to enhance the efficiency and abilities of Engineering Service Group.

Education: College or Technical School degree, Engineering major (mechanical preferred)

Functional skills:

• Fundamental Mechanical engineering knowledge
• Knowledge of Structural Analysis, Multi-body Dynamics Analysis, CFD Analysis preferred
• Good communication & collaboration skills, in particular the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, cross-cultural environment with colleagues located in different physical locations

Computer skills:

• Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project)
• Basic knowledge of CAE computing environments, including workstations, license servers, and computer networks, is preferred.
