Position: Sonic Audit Specialist - Japanese
Type: Contract
Compensation: $38/hour
Location: Remote

Role Responsibilities

• Evaluate AI training data in Japanese for accuracy and consistency.
• Review multilingual transcription audits by listening to recordings and verifying transcriptions.
• Conduct forced alignment audits by checking and correcting audio segments and timestamps.
• Apply error codes and provide clear rationales for each judgment.
• Work independently with a focus on careful listening and precise error identification.
• Complete a calibration phase before starting production work.

Qualifications

Must-Have

• Native or near-native command of Japanese as spoken in Japan.
• Strong English reading and writing skills.
• Experience in transcription subtitling localization or linguistic annotation.
• Ability to apply a disciplined rubric consistently.

Preferred

• Prior AI data annotation or model evaluation experience.
• Background in phonetics or linguistics.
• Experience with audio editing or waveform tools.
