We are seeking an experienced and results-oriented Contract Logistics Business Development Manager to join the Contract Logistics division of a globally recognized logistics and freight forwarding leader.This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the strategic growth of the warehousing and distribution operations at both the country and cluster level. The main clients are in the lifestyle and medical industries but any 3PL Business Development experience will be considered. Japanese language is essential.
Position Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, developing, and managing new and existing business opportunities within the Contract Logistics sector. This role requires close collaboration with internal stakeholders across various functions and geographies, as well as external clients and prospects, to deliver tailored logistics solutions that align with our commercial strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and manage a substantial pipeline of business opportunities, guiding each through the full Customer Engagement Cycle.
Lead all aspects of commercial negotiations, including the preparation and presentation of high-quality, solution-oriented proposals.
Establish, maintain, and expand customer relationships, while continuously building a robust network of qualified prospects.
Collaborate proactively with internal colleagues, including Subject Matter Experts, Vertical Market Specialists, and Account Managers at global, regional, and local levels.
Track and report key developments and achievements using internal tools and dashboards, providing visibility to stakeholders.
Collect, analyze, and communicate relevant business and market intelligence to inform strategic decision-making.
Contribute to the development and execution of annual business development plans aligned with broader organizational objectives.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Proven track record in business development or sales within the contract logistics or supply chain sector.
Demonstrated experience in managing end-to-end commercial cycles, from lead generation to contract closure.
Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to navigate complex, matrixed organizations.
Excellent communication and presentation abilities in both Japanese and English .
Analytical mindset, with a structured approach to planning, pipeline management, and market research.
Familiarity with industry-leading tools and technologies used for opportunity tracking and reporting is preferred.
