What you ’ll do
- Review stock pitches and provide detailed feedback to help junior analysts refine their modeling skills, pitching, and idea generation skills
- Build analytical tools for measuring and improving long / short analyst performance and investment process
- Conduct deep dives on long / short portfolios to determine key return drivers and assess overall investment / team process with the objective of improving returns
- Develop and update curriculum of best practices to promote continuous learning and improvement on the investment platform
- Ad hoc, project-based work supporting the Head of Professional Development and senior management
- Partner closely with Compliance
What’s required
Proven background in long / short investing, either as an experienced equity analyst or a long / short portfolio managerDemonstrated ability to analyze and evaluate investment opportunities, with a strong track record of performanceFluency in Mandarin Chinese or Japanese skills is essential, as the role requires effective communication with analysts in these language regionsStrong written / verbal communication skills and the ability to engage with PMs / Senior ManagementAbility to manage projects end-to-end while exercising strong decision-making capabilities to execute on the team’s visionStrong analytical abilities to assess complex financial data and provide insightful feedback to analystsA passion for mentoring and developing investment professionals, with a focus on fostering growth and enhancing skillsA strong financial acumen that includes the basics of financial statement analysis and the ability to understand different business models and industries, modeling skills are also crucial for this roleThe ability to build relationships across the investment platformExcellent technical skills with Excel / Bloomberg, presentation-building, database analytics and potentially programming experienceCommitment to the highest ethical standardsWe take care of our people
