We are seeking a strategic and dynamic Head of Human Resources to lead our HR function in Japan. This role is a critical partner to our Japan leadership team, responsible for developing and executing HR strategies that align with business goals, while ensuring compliance with local labor laws and fostering a high-performance culture. The successful candidate will bring deep HR expertise, cultural awareness, and a track record of leading HR teams in complex, fast-paced environments.
Strategic HR Leadership
- Partner with the Japan Country Head and regional HR leadership to shape and implement HR strategies that drive business growth and operational excellence.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on all people-related matters.
Talent Acquisition & Management
Oversee recruitment activities to attract top talent across all business units in Japan.Lead succession planning, talent reviews, and high-potential employee programs.Employee Relations & Compliance
Ensure compliance with Japanese labor laws and company policies.Lead initiatives to maintain a positive and legally compliant working environment.Organizational Development & Change Management
Drive organizational effectiveness through structure reviews, capability building, and change management strategies.Support cross-border HR integration and alignment with regional / global policies.Compensation & Benefits
Oversee local compensation and benefits programs, ensuring market competitiveness and internal equity.Collaborate with regional teams to align compensation strategies with global frameworks.Performance Management & Culture
Champion a performance-driven culture and lead the annual performance management process.Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within the Japan office.Team Leadership
Manage and develop a high-performing HR team, providing mentorship and professional development opportunities.Requirements
REQUIREMENTS :
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree preferred.10+ years of progressive HR experience, including leadership roles in Japan.Proven experience in strategic HR business partnering within multinational or fast-paced organizations.Strong understanding of Japanese labor law and HR practices.Bilingual : Native-level Japanese and business-level English required.Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.Agile mindset with a proactive, hands-on approach to problem-solving.
