We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven  Head of Business Development (Start Up Specialist)  to join an exciting, high-growth company in the  Technology  sector. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced business development professional with a deep understanding of the  startup ecosystem ,  venture capital , and  private equity  sectors.

As a key player in the executive team, you will be responsible for identifying high-value business opportunities, cultivating strategic partnerships, and driving revenue growth in a rapidly expanding market.

Depending on the candidate’s experience, the role title can be adjusted to reflect the level of expertise and impact the individual brings to the team.

Responsibilities

  • New Business Development :  Identify and actively pursue business opportunities across the  startup ,  venture capital , and  private equity  sectors, leveraging your extensive network and market knowledge.
  • Client Relationship Building :  Cultivate and nurture long-term, trusted relationships with top-tier executives and key decision makers within the startup ecosystem, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Negotiation and Deal Closure :  Lead negotiations and close deals that align with company goals and provide value to both clients and the business.
  • Strategic Growth Leadership :  Develop and execute high level business development strategies that accelerate growth and position the company as a leader in the cloud solutions space.
  • Market Intelligence :  Conduct indepth market analysis to stay ahead of industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities, using insights to refine growth strategies.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration :  Work closely with the internal team to deliver exceptional client experiences and ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Target Achievement :  Meet or exceed ambitious sales targets, contributing directly to the company's growth and success.
  • Solution Presentations :  Prepare and deliver compelling, tailored presentations that showcase the company’s cloud solutions, demonstrating their value to clients’ businesses.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in  business development, sales , or  account management , with a focus on startups, venture capital, or private equity.
  • Strong ability to build relationships with  C-level executives , founders, and decision-makers within the startup ecosystem.
  • A network of established connections within the  startup and VC / PE spaces , with a deep understanding of what drives growth in this sector.
  • A strategic mindset, with experience in developing and executing business growth strategies.
  • Outstanding negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to influence key stakeholders.
  • A self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Fluency in Japanese and English  is required.
  • A degree in  Business, Marketing , or a related field is preferred.
