THE ROLEThe position is responsible for managing and optimizing warehouse and distribution performance. Ensure alignment on distribution strategy and get maximum support from local business partners to contribute to PM business growth in the market. Engage with management of local distributor to get buy-in to support PMI’s Smoke Free vision, and lead to implement mid- and long-term initiatives to contribute to company's business growth. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. WAREHOUSE MANAGEMENT
- Lead improvement and optimization in external warehouses. Constantly review current Suppliers in terms of flexibility, price (together with Procurement), agreed KPI’s and SLA’s. If needed lead warehouse infrastructure network optimization project. SERVICE DELIVERY AND PERFORMANCE EXECUTION
- Lead cost to serve initiatives on the permanent base, optimize processes, review current set up and propose automation or elimination of non-value-added activities.
- Lead projects connected to cost efficiency within Service Delivery stream. REPORTING
- Act as a central point for receiving and consolidation of Distributor's sales data by each sales depot, SKU for further use of the company.
- Proactively analyze the company reporting needs, identify and propose new formats of the reports.
- Co-ordinate development of new reporting tools.
- Control preparation and distribution of daily, weekly, monthly reports on in-market sales, shipments, and onshore stocks, ensure that such reports are accurate, correct and submitted within the established guidelines.
- Reduction of losses within the turnover of finished products by ensuring balanced indexation of tariffs within the established % of inflation. COLLABORATION & CONSULTANCY
- Evaluate and report periodically on distributor's key performance indicators (KPIs) related to logistics and distribution operations, in accordance with the SLA with distributor.
- Oversee and manage planning processes and communication flows with regards to the distributors’ sales planning and shipment planning departments to ensure proper co-operation with Demand & Supply Planning teams.
- Collaborate with various internal departments of the Company and Distributor to ensure effectiveness and efficiency of sales and supply planning activities through proper co-ordination, communication, and information exchange.
- Lead or contribute to global / local initiatives to achieve PMI market, Operations or Supply Chain strategies. BUDGET MANAGEMENT & PEOPLE MANAGEMENT
- Contribute to Operations budget management by proper logistics and distribution cost forecasting, cost to serve and supervision to ensure the cost-effective logistics benchmarked with local logistics operators.
- Manage, motivate, monitor, and evaluate the Service Delivery team to ensure a high level of efficiency in the individual and teamwork of employees.
- Ensure the necessary level of professional knowledge and skills, as well as the necessary level of interchangeability of employees.
- Identify the strengths and development needs of employees.
- Prepare development plans and monitor their implementation. COMPLIANCE / ENVIRONMENT, HEALTH AND SAFETY
- Ensure full personal and subordinates’ compliance with Regime of Confidentiality applicable to any commercial and competitive sensitive information including provisions of Distribution Agreement.
- Ensure full compliance with local legislation and company policies and procedures.
- Adhere to all Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) rules, policies, and procedures. Pass through appropriate EHS trainings, apply received knowledge at work.
- Organize business processes at assigned work area in compliance with EHS rules, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure work conditions in department (division) in compliance with norms defined by local legislation. Ensure all subordinates adhere to all applicable EHS rules, policies, and procedures. QUALIFICATIONS
- Undergraduate or graduate degree.
- Degree or post-graduate diploma in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or related fields will be an advantage.
- 5+ years in Supply Chain. Proven experience in supply chain management, logistics, warehouse, and distribution.
- Experience within FMCG companies as an advantage.
- Native level Japanese and business level or above fluency in English (written and spoken).
- Strong project management skills.
- Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
- Ability to be flexible and agile in ways of working.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and SAP.
