Objectives of the Position
Responsible for all business management activities of EMU Japan and technical service platform in reginal setup to achieve short-term operational targets and the long-term strategic targets of EMU Japan. Support company objectives with strong commitment on company compliance policy. Create strategic partnership with key accounts and co-manufactures. The responsibilities include giving strategic guidance to related stakeholders such as regional organizations including Marketing, R&D, SCM, Segment Controlling and Communication and external business partners such as distributors.
Main Areas of Responsibilities and Key Activities
Mid-long term Strategy development :
Manage EMU’s strategy development including strategic alliance with co-manufactures, tolling partners and distributors, possible M&A and monitor the implementation to achieve the strategic goal.
Target and budget planning :
Develop the annual operational planning (budgeting and sales forecasting) of EMU including setting sales volume, selling price and margin / profitability targets, total cost targets, working capitals, manpower planning, and monitor the progress. This includes targets for customer’s transplants outside of Japan.
Market development management :
Drive all activities and develop market development plan (channel management, new business development with new or existing products, technology, innovation, new services) to achieve the defined goals.
Key Customer and Industry management :
Drive to build strong strategic relationship with customers and industries. Taking all responsibilities of defined regional and global Japanese key account activities including their transplant activities outside of Japan.
External communication :
Manage external customer and market communication professionally such as product launching, deletion, product safety and registration, advertising, promotion programs, seminars and workshops in cooperation.
People and organizational development and succession planning :
Develop long term sustainable organizational and people development of EMU in line with the company objectives and coach the direct reports. Monitor the development timely.
Drive X-BU activities (e.g. CNT) :
Commit to drive X-BU activities including Japanese transplant activities for the achievement of Japan long term objectives and vision.
Compliance & leadership Integrity :
Ensuring safe and healthy operations through effective compliance and leadership with integrity in accordance with the BASF Code of Conduct, in own responsible organization, EMU Japan.
