Job Description
The Senior Project Manager will manage one or more business critical projects / programmes. In this role you will predominantly deliver infrastructure projects / programmes, driving technology transformation and technical cost optimization.
As a Senior Project Manager you will report into the Head of Portfolio & Project Management.
What you will do :
- Manage a range of complex projects / programmes aligned with key business and strategic objectives.
- Manage the full project lifecycle ownership - from inception to closure, according to agreed time, budget, scope, quality and change control criteria.
- Lead project teams, through a matrix management approach.
- Execute PM processes including scope definition, scheduling, planning and resource allocation, cost and budget management. Coordinate project risk and issue identification, analysis, planning, monitoring and control.
- Monitor project assurance, establishing / tracking key success metrics and KPIs for the project(s).
- Chair the weekly Portfolio review meeting with key stakeholders.
- Report on project progress, blockers and key achievements. Communicate effectively at all levels (peers to Exec, internally and externally). Articulate complex risks and issues clearly and concisely.
- Create, manage and distribute project communications. Communicate across a variety of channels. Present project updates.
- Peer review other project management team member schedules, plans and strategies and recommends enhancements.
- Take a lead in running project gigs to share insight with those wanting to learn more about project management.
Qualifications
What you are expected to bring :
Qualifications : PRINCE2, Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or equivalent; Agile project management qualifications, Six Sigma, etc.5 years+ of relevant experience in a project management role, managing complex or medium-large sized projects, preferably in the financial services industry, or working on infrastructure or projects involving technology transformation.Ability to travel desirable but not essential.
