The Marketing Division leads branding, brand asset creation, marketing, and membership as a cross-group organization with a mission to expand Rakuten Group's membership value and ecosystem of over 70 services.
Department Overview
Creative Design Strategy Department is responsible for Rakuten Group's overall brand strategy. Design-focused organization, Rakuten Design Lab is established under this department.
Design Lab is responsible for graphic & web design creative lead / art direction within branding and communication.
With the expansion of the entire Rakuten group including global services, the importance of branding is increasing. You will cooperate with Chief Creative Director Mr. Kashiwa Sato, top management executives, external ad agencies, and domestic / international group departments marketing leads.

Why We Hire
Art director / Graphic Designer for Rakuten Design Lab. Work directly under Mr. Sato Kashiwa to variety of design projects to increase the brand value of the Rakuten Group.
Since Rakuten’s business is getting more complex, expansion of Design Lab scope is necessary.
Position Details
Lead the group’s design through design related to the group’s branding, as well as design production and support for each of the group’s services.Creative direction / art direction to various kind of specialist & creator.Planning and promotion of creative design strategies.Setting, operation, and teaching of design guidelinesRakuten Design Lab oversees design across the whole group and do not belong to any business units or services. You will be doing designs with group branding and new services / prioritized services.
Team member will be mainly speaking Japanese, but you will need your English skills when you are assigned to overseas businesses.
Mandatory Qualifications :
At least 5 years' work experience in graphic design / web design (Regardless of business company, agency, production company, freelancer)Coordinate with top management, colleague, external agencies, and other departments, not only have creative skills but also communication skills from a business perspectiveGood organization skill, branding / ad graphic design and CI / VI design skillSkills that can explain your design logically.Skills to be flexible in responding to new processes, ideas, and speedy changes.Have business level or advanced Japanese language abilityDesired Qualifications :
